Another Dynasty Gone

By Michael Bradford

Just six months after loosing Ray Allen to the Miami Heat, the Boston Celtics loose another critical part to their dynasty, Rajon Rondo. Rondo will be out for the rest of the season to an torn ACL. The same injury Derrick Rose suffered last season. Rondo was an intricate part of the Celtics offense delivering 11.1 assist, 1.8 steals, and 13.7 points per game. He is the future and face of the Celtics franchise.

How well will they play without Rondo? So far the Celtics are 21-23 this season. Even with Rondo their playoff hopes are in danger as they sit in 8th place in the eastern conference. The Celtics back up point gaurd Avery Bradley only averages 0.9 assist per game in 24.7 minutes. The Celtics may struggle on offense now that they do not have a true distributor at point guard. Pual Piece and Kevin Garnet are the big two options and must put the Celtics on their back to make it to the playoffs. Unless the Celtics can find relief form bench players such Jason Terry, Jeff Green, or Courtney Lee; Otherwise, their playoff hopes look grim.
